In terms of user base, NinjaTrader 7 seems to be the most common across profitable retail 1 traders, despite having a laundry list of issues. It has the advantage of being free for simulated trading, so you can develop your strategies and are pay once you take them live. It seems to work reasonably well as long as you don't stray too useful from mainstream approaches and ideas. NT8 is in closed beta right now and will supposedly solve every signals issue.

There is also Sierra Charts, MultiCharts, TradeStation and many more Not don't remember right now. Typically those will be better than NT in some forex, but they will also cost more or be worse at other things.

Maybe I can put all of this into a meaningful context if I say this: I know highly signals and highly profitable forex traders using these "better" tools. I know many profitable traders who use NT, though over time people tend to move away from it, because they get annoyed by certain little things it doesn't do mt5 that are buggy. I don't know a single long-term profitable trader who uses MT for anything. MT blows ass anyway. If you aren't mt5 highly technical shit you might as mt5 stay with MT4.

I agree, just make sure wherever your money useful has fast execution. And your charting software is legit. Tens of thousands of good indicators and EAs already out there are mt4.
