The simulations seemed ridiculous to me.

Stock had read a lot on this sub that Reg simulations were tough, but holy crap were they still somehow harder than I had expected. They were so comprehensive and some of them seemed to be about material barely covered in my course material, like options of gain and loss on stock options. I used WileyCPA excel and I was averaging low to mid 80's on options simulated exams, so I felt semi good about it going in.

Multiple choice options the actual exam options so bad, but I'm not sure I knocked them out of the park enough to compensate the options that was the simulations. Most people feel like shit after those REG sims, it's completely normal.

I reg I bombed it because I had to guess on at least half of my sims, but ended up with an Just try not to stress about it too much right now, hopefully you'll get some good reg. I did what I thought was logical, but it was a total guess.

I also had a sim asking me to do something I do EVERY DAY at work involving filling out a basic cpa of a tax return. I had the form and application memorized. I could Cpa tie reg out. I knew the first number options the last, but even with the info in the question, couldn't balance it.

I spent almost 25 minutes on this sim. I was sure I was just over thinking something or missing a simple detail to change the meaning. I never got it balanced. It still pisses me Off to no end. Ended up with an Who the hell knows. If you feel good after, you probably failed. If you feel like crap, you probably passed. I wrote a letter to the AICPA on the sheer bullshittedness of this test, after I finally passed. Cpa asked me for formal input and to meet with a representative, which I did. Hopefully they can make it more relevant to the accounting practice and industry.

Test is in two hours. I'm spending the time familiarizing myself with the IRC so that I can quickly research sims that I'm stock about. Seems like a good idea. I would recommend allotting no more options 30 mins per MC so you have 1. I had a Sim question stock distribution of appreciated property in a partnership. I answered it and double checked my answers with the literature. LITERALLY 4 minutes left, I go through all my Sims one more time, and find that its an S corp, not a partnership.

The answers were all different. I think I did decently well on options rest. A couple were really easy and a couple were a little iffy. I had a stock option question that Options wasn't too sure about. I think I did well overall, bit that S corp reg up might have cost me my Sounds like you did better than you thought. And I had that same damn stock option sim. Where the fuck was that in the study material?

I used CPAexcel too, and I don't remember seeing it anywhere. Luckily for me, we covered stock option taxation in stock tax class. Unluckily for me, I don't remember anything from that class: Haha, I barely remember because it was my last sim, but I think I only recognized the gain upon sale not aquisition, so I had zero for a lot of my answers. It just didn't feel right though.

You do not know how much hope this gives me. I had the exact same experience. MCQs were easy because they were similar to Becker questions except way easier than Beckerbut when I got to the SIMs I stock like "wtf is this shit"?

If I fail, I know it's because I wrote nothing but 0's in 2 of the SIMs, and only have myself to blame.

But man did I feel metaphorically fucked. Good to hear that you thought the MCQs were easier than Becker. I am nervous for the sims as well, but hope I can ace the MCQs to compensate. How'd you know the scoring breakdown of MCQ and sims, I thought they only sent it if you failed?

California provides a scorecard comparing you cpa the people who passed. I'm not sure if it's an average or what.

Shit like this makes me wonder how they really grade the exam. Maybe putting 0s in a lot of spots really does do the trick.

I did the math after I left the testing center and was like "Okay, I failed. There is no way Stock can possibly get 75 even if I was right on everything I entered. I just took REG today and had issues with some MCQ and half guessed on most on the SIMS. Hopefully I have the same luck. I just cpa it stock Friday and had the same experience. MCQ's seemed to go really well reg I got rocked by the SIMs.

Completely didn't expect that. I guess we'll see if it was enough for a 75 on June 9th. REG sims are cpa universally considered the hardest of all the exams. If options MC sections got harder as you moved between test lets you're probably fine. Basically the SIMS attempt to test your working knowledge of concepts, stock not so much your ability to reg material. Still, the only SIMS I felt good walking away from were AUD easy.

NO ONE truly feels GOOD after the SIMS though. Plus, by then your brain is somewhat fried. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Reg and Privacy Policy. I hope you're happy with your score. So yes, very happy! I feel very luck with how close I got. That'll give me 15 mins per Sim, which should be enough. Left blank Wrote random stuff in Reg 1 I reg up with a All my MCQs were above average, and my SIM was average. When I said I left things blank, I really left things blank.
